Dr Matt Appleby – Ecologist South-east Region, Bush Heritage Australia
Matt is a botanist with a specific interest in the ecology and conservation of native grasslands. He completed a PhD in the field of restoration ecology at University of Tasmania and spent ten years working in the Private Land Conservation Program with Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment. Matt is now Bush Heritage’s regional ecologist supporting the Victorian and New South Wales reserves and the partnership landscape projects, Midlandscapes (Tas) and Kara Kara Wedderburn (Vic). He provides ecological advice and support throughout the planning, implementation and reporting of the conservation projects in his region.
